| Manufacturer: Reaper Dark Heavens #2813 Date Completed: August, 2006 Comments: This figure was, at first, a commission request, but something happened during the planning process. I create the base of a figure while also cleaning and priming it. Therefore the entire piece put together before painting begins. Once I had this guy based and ready for priming it occurred to me that it would make an awesome entry in the up coming Tacticon Miniatures competition here in Denver (that and the figure would be too expensive to really sell, or at least so I thought). So, I worked on the figure for the better part of the month in preparation for the contest. It was my only entry into the Masterclass Category and, although there was a very poor turn out, it was competing against 5 other figures. To my surprise, it won 1st place! It is also probably the last figure to do so ever. The organizer of the contest decided, due to the lack of entries, to pretty much stop having miniature competitions during Tacticon (luckily though GenghisCon, the bigger convention, is still having competitions). So, that's the story behind this guy. As for technical stuff: The dead elf is a from the Reaper Warlord line, I cut him in half and sculpted the "innards". I then positioned and modified the shield. The blood on the axe was created using Water Effects painted red. So I hope you like him. Cool Mini Or Not Rating: |
